As I sit here at home, surrounded by books to be marked and with an ever-growing to-do list, I find it pretty impossible to believe that just two weeks ago I was on holiday.
At the end of October, I set off with my boyfriend to explore the city of Hamburg in the north of Germany; the country’s second biggest city and supposed ‘gateway to the world’, thanks to its enormous port and maritime heritage. Neither of us were sure of what to expect from our city break, but it’s safe to say that we both came away won over by Hamburg’s character, and wishing for just ‘one more day’ to finish exploring.
Our stay in Hamburg was short, totalling less than 72 hours, but our schedule was jam-packed with plenty of sightseeing, some great activities and of course, loads of food. We were in the land of currywurst and Gummi-bears after all!
I’m in the process of piecing together a number of in-depth Hamburg blog posts for you all, but in the meantime I wanted to share with you a quick highlights video showing the best bits from our stay in the city!
I really hope you enjoy it, and as always, please let me know what you think in the comments below!
Love, V x
