Another month has come and gone, and somehow it’s March already! I feel like January was the longest month ever but February has just flown by – not that I’m complaining. The past four weeks have actually been quite busy for me; a mix of good busy and stressful busy, so I have a number of things to report back to you guys. As always, in true Victoria-style, get yourself a cup of tea and read on to find out what I got up to.. Here is my life update for February!

A Week in France
February kicked off my overseas travel for 2018 with a week-long trip across the channel to France. Our trip began in Paris before we headed south on the TGV as far as Dijon. It was my first visit to the city and I was looking forward to exploring what there was on offer, apart from the famous mustard! We also managed a half day trip out to the nearby town of Beaunes, the wine capital of Burgundy and home to the Hotel Dieu, one of the most beautiful medieval buildings I’ve ever seen. After two days in Dijon we travelled back north and stopped in Versailles where we paid a return visit to the impressive Château de Versailles, and also visited the small city of Chartres, famous for its cathedral. The trip ended with a final day in Paris which was mostly spent in the neighbourhood of Montmartre. I will be writing more about the trip soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
Two Days in London
One day after returning home from France, I was on the move again. Silly me had discovered that my passport was due to expire and with a number of upcoming travel plans, I urgently needed to get a new one. In order to make a trip to the passport office in London a little more enjoyable, Jack and I decided to make a weekend of it and booked up a hotel not too far from the Tower of London.
Amazingly what I thought would be a stressful and longwinded activity actually took no time at all and so we were left with the whole of Saturday and Sunday to enjoy what London had to offer! We certainly made the most of our 36 hours and I introduced Jack to a number of London’s markets – Spitalfields, Borough Market, Columbia Road and of course, Camden. We also gorged ourselves on some amazing food including Byron Burgers, brunch at Coppa Club and some delicious street food at KERB Camden.
A Trip to the Farm
One of the great things about being a teacher is the school trips. In my first six months of being a qualified teacher I’ve been to Germany and on a team building day to a local activity centre, but the most recent trip with my year 7 form group has definitely been the highlight!
At the beginning of last week my form and I set off to a working farm in the Berkshire countryside, as part of their geography course. Despite freezing temperatures (I don’t think the temperature made it above zero degrees) and our many warm layers, we had a great time on the farm learning about the use of different machines, meeting some of the farm’s animals such as Mille the pig and the absolute best bit.. cuddling some little lambs! I don’t know who enjoyed that bit more – myself or the children!
Booking Up An Adventure
To end the month and after a few weeks of planning, Jack and I decided to book our flights for a very exciting trip we are going on at the end of March. I’m not going to tell you where we are going just yet as I have a blog post in the pipeline outlining our itinerary. We’re going somewhere I’ve wanted to go for YEARS and I’m so excited as I’ll be ticking off so many of my bucket list experiences! Stay tuned for the trip announcement!!

In Case You Missed Them..
February was a little quiet on The Girl On The Move, mostly due to the fact that I was away and so busy with that I didn’t have the time, energy or brain capacity to sit down and write something! I did however manage to get a few things published and at the beginning of the month I shared my last two interrail posts; 48 Hours in Leipzig and A Day in Wurzburg. I also managed to get my Interrail Highlights video up on YouTube. I’m still working on building my subscribers, so if you aren’t already following me over on YouTube, please do! I’ll insert a link to my channel here.

Interesting picture of London. Somehow I did not expect the skyscrapers! I think I need to put down the tea and get out more. Thanks for sharing, Victoria!
Not a bad view from our hotel window!! I know what you mean – the built up parts of London seem like a different city completely! Thanks so much for stopping by Jasmine and glad you enjoyed the post 🙂
