Welcome to the last day of January everyone. I’m sure we will all agree that this past month has been NEVERENDING but we’ve finally made it to 31st, and so, it’s time for a little life update.
I’ve not been particularly great at monthly life updates but it’s a new year, so I thought I’d give things another go and try to keep on top of it all! To be quite honest, January has been quite a quiet month so I’m not sure yet where this post will take us but lets get going and find out where my rambling takes me!

Welcoming in 2018
It’s becoming a little tradition that my boyfriend and I see in the New Year in a small cottage somewhere in the English countryside. Last year we stayed in a wooden chalet in Herefordshire and this year we opted to book a little stone cottage in the Oxfordshire countryside, just outside of Banbury. Needless to say, it was a much needed break after the seemingly endless autumn term at school and the chaos of Christmas. We spent our days out in the fresh air walking through the green Cotswolds fields and our evenings were spent snuggled up on the sofa under a blanket with tea (of course) watching films. If you didn’t catch my blog post about our stay or are looking for the perfect Cotswolds cottage to escape to, you can find my post here: A North Newington New Years
Catching Up with Friends
Back at the beginning of the month when I had some money left, and before I splurged the rest on a new coat (oops), I had a lovely catch up with some of my friends from sixth form. We spent a lovely few hours doing what we do best (eating and laughing) over lunch at Miller and Carter in Reading, followed by drinks at All Bar One. Somehow it was my first visit to Miller and Carter and I’ll tell you what, I had some serious food envy when I decided not to go for a steak! An excuse to return!
A Visit to Warburg Nature Reserve
I used to visit this place loads when I was younger – in fact for a good few years I went every single Saturday morning to volunteer around the reserve as part of the kids wildlife club. On a sunny Saturday morning earlier this month, Jack and I decided to pay the reserve a visit and enjoy a walk in the fresh air. The circular loop took us just over an hour to complete and it was nice to get out and about and away from civilisation. Once we got home we rustled up a tasty fry up. One of my favourite ways to spend a Saturday!
On the Blogging Front
I’ve been a bit neglectful of social media for this past month but I’m finding Instagram so slow at the moment and am not feeling super inspired to post. Is it just me? I’m hoping to get back into it a bit more in the next few months, but for now, have decided to focus on Twitter and YouTube (if you haven’t yet subscribed to my channel you can do so here). I’m currently working on my next vlog which I’m super excited to share with you all very soon. I’ve also finally finished putting my media kit together and am ready to start pitching! Woohoo.

In Case You Missed Them..
I began the month by looking back at 2017 and picking out my personal and travel related highlights including my interrail trip around Germany and Poland, my first scuba dive in Fuerteventura, my press trip to Hamburg, my debut into vlogging and reaching some personal goals like buying my first car and graduating for the second time!
I also continued with my Interrail 2017 posts by sharing 2 Days in Wonderful Wrocław and Half a Day in Dresden, both amazing cities which, if you haven’t visited already, should definitely be added to your bucketlist!
My final post of the month was a round up of my top 10 off-the-tourist-trail things to do in Fuerteventura, which gave me all the summer feels!
