I’m sure I’m not the only girl out there who ditches their Bikini Body plan at the sight of cookies and cake. Well at least I hope not! It’s true that I have rather a penchant for the sweeter things in life – I blame this on spending multiple holidays a year visiting relatives in Germany, where every occasion requires a cream-laden slice of cake. Yes, the Germans sure know how to make gateaux and I sure know how to eat them!
My love of cake is not purely restricted to German gateaux. Oh no, I also love French macarons, American doughnuts and a good slice of trusty Victoria sponge cake.
Now girls, if you aren’t already nodding along with me in agreement, I am impressed but I guarantee that you too, will by the end of this post, consider scrapping the diet books and making the perfectly pink pilgrimage to Peggy Porschen in Belgravia.
♥
Peggy Porschen is located in the well-to-do area of Belgravia, just a short walk from Victoria Station and a stone’s throw from the designer labels off Sloane Square. The shop is very pretty and feminine, with pink chairs and tables on the street outside and it certainly brightens up Ebury Street, with its pastel pink façade.
On a recent visit to London, and with my boyfriend in tow, I decided it was time to visit Peggy Porschen for myself. Some post-visit research tells me that the lady herself, Peggy, is from Germany – so of course it was bound to be good!
Whilst at first my boyfriend was sceptical at the café’s pink exterior he was soon won over when he spotted their signature strawberry and champagne cake on the menu!
It is safe to say that we had to have a slice.
The triple layered sponge topped with a Marc de Champagne truffle arrived soon after ordering, along with our drinks and a cheeky love-heart-shaped jam tart, because why not?
Although we tucked into these treats, they have many other options – both cupcakes and slices of bigger cakes, if these aren’t up your street! All of which I MUST try next time I head over.
Whilst enjoying our indulgent tea break, we perused the many different goodies (aside from the cakes) that were available to buy from the parlour; from Peggy’s books, to aprons and even jars of purchasable cake fillings!
So ladies (and gents) if you feel like having a totally pink and relaxed break from the stresses and strains of everyday life then this is the must go to destination in London!

Thanks so much Karen! I would definitely recommend it 🙂
My mom and I visited London a couple years ago and stopped here after I discovered it on Pinterest! We ate that same cake 🙂 YUM!
